Cream of Tartar ~ 2x the baking powder for the baking soda 1c. flour (cake) ~ 1c. minus 2T flour 1c. flour (bread) ~ 1c. plus 2T flour 1c. flour (self-rising) ~ 1c flour + 1t baking powder, 1/2t salt, & 1/4t soda 1c. half & half ~ 1T melted butter + 1c. whole milk 1c. molasses ~ 1c. honey 1c. sugar ~ 1c. packed brown sugar or 2c. powdered sugar (note the above does NOT work with drink mixes as there is corn starch in powdered sugar, and brown sugar tastes funny in fruit punch) 1c. brown sugar ~ 1c. sugar + 2T molasses 1 whole vanilla bean ~ 2t. vanilla extract 1c. sweetened condensed milk ~ 1c. evaporated milk + 1 1/4c. sugar 1c. un-whipped cream =2c. whipped 1 6oz. chocolate chips = 1c. |
